hey has anyone else had difficulties with a specific element of magic in the game??

i mean like a lot of difficulty. "can't use it at all" difficulty. i know it's EASIER to learn some than others but is my character build just broken or what

my affinity is dark and the one i can't use is light, so ??? is this happening to anyone else with that affinity. what gives

I haven't yet, but I've only tried really minor things...and only in a few elements. Maybe it's a thing where the element most opposed to your own is the hardest?

yeah that's what i was thinking at first, but i don't mean "hard" i mean "impossible"

like "hard" is trying to climb a rock wall and "impossible" is trying to fly when you're an ordinary human you know what i mean?? i can't do even the tiniest little bit of light magic

I wish I could help more...so far, I haven't experienced the impossible. Or, well - I don't think I have? There's stuff I haven't been able to do, but I'm sure if we just work at it, it'll happen!

i hate to break it to you but that's not what impossible means? if something is impossible it doesn't matter how hard you try. unless you're the protagonist but i am definitely not.

anyway it's fine it's not like i really need to be able to use every element or anything. i just wanted to know if this is normal or if there's something wrong with me. and i guess the answer is that it's me.

I wouldn't say that yet! I mean, so far your sample size is only two it seems like. You need a much larger group to be for certain! And we can always try asking NPCs in game? Maybe there's a special quest for unlocking it!

we'll see if anyone else has had the same problem... i'd rather not ask the npcs until i know, because what if it's something bad?? they might think i'm cursed or something and then i'm stuck with that reputation

That's a good point. I mean, I don't know if that's the case, but caution isn't a bad thing!

yeah especially considering we don't know how much memory or personality they actually have. or even how much of an effect we really have on the game.

who knows, maybe it's not that dynamic and in a couple months we'll get railroaded and realise our choices don't mean anything.

I'd rather think our choices do matter! I mean, even if we get railroaded, we shouldn't give up, right?

if it has to do with opposite elements being harder to learn, that makes sense. what's your second element that you've found easier to try out?
